Meghan Markle became a member of the Royal Family and later in the year she and Prince Harry announced their first child. Trump’s immigration policies and child internment caused widespread outrage. Bill Cosby was imprisoned for sexual misconduct and Hollywood turned against Harvey Weinstein. The big event in 2018 for us was much more personal. At age seventy five the long shooting days and constant travel of my movie work were starting to become tiring and, after fifty four years of a profession I truly loved, I had reluctantly accepted that it was time to retire which meant we would be moving our home in Brussels in the year to come.
