SHATTERED ILLUSION

The sculpted words “ILLUSION” are a variation of my Illusion Typeface found elsewhere on this site.

This was developed from a design originally produced  for the cover of a special Paradox edition of Science et Vie Junior, a French science magazine for younger readers. The main structure is “painted” in the computer. The sky, man, and accessories are photographed.

This image is based upon the “Penrose Triangle”. Although attributed to Sir Roger Penrose, who produced it in the 1950‘s, it had in fact been produced earlier in 1934 by one of the pioneers of illusion, the Swedish artist Oscar Reutersvärd .
