NEW YEAR CARD 2022

In 2021 Trump supporters storm the Capitol in a last attempt to overturn the election. Joe Biden takes office two weeks later. Derek Chauvin is sentenced to 23 years imprisonment for the murder of George Floyd. This is a year dominated by Covid. By July global deaths have reached four million but over three billion vaccines have been administered. The Summer Olympics start in Japan after postponement. By the end of the year the Delta and Omicron variants have arrived. Nonetheless infections are dropping and restrictions are starting to be relaxed. The prospect that 2022 could see a return to something close to normal seems possible. Our slightly surreal card is more optimistic and symbolises life opening up again with the possibility of large social gatherings once more.
