NEW YEAR CARD 2017

 

At the time of producing this card I was experimenting  with Celtic knots and translating them into 3D.

Like all my 3D this was produced initially in Trimble Sketchup then ported to Photoshop. Because the figure has rotational symmetry it was only necessary to model a 120° segment which was copied, rotated and joined to itself. 

2016 had seen some surprise upsets. 

Contrary to expectations and forecasts Hillary Clinton, the first woman ever to be nominated for the United States Presidency,  lost to Donald Trump  against a backdrop of increasing polarisation.

In another surprise result Britain voted to leave the EU. 

Sadly for music, David Bowie, Prince, & Leonard Cohen all left us. 

NASA’s Juno spacecraft began orbiting Jupiter and astronaut John Glenn also left us.
