Here is a completely different never ending staircase. Although there is an obvious reference here to M. C. Escher’s well known “Ascending and Descending”, in point of fact “Cleaners” has a completely different viewpoint and geometry.
Two days of carefully planned photography in the Basilique du Sacré Coeur, an extraordinary Art Deco cathedral in Brussels, were required to take the hundred or so photographs needed to produce the architectural elements. The people were photographed quite separately in my home from camera angles carefully designed to fit them seamlessly into their eventual positions. The chain was created using 3D software.
