And now an incredibly important phase. Shadows on the ground from the figures and the wall have been added and shadows from the figures on the wall itself also. These are painted by hand.
Shadows are the ‘glue’ that binds the figures to background and makes them belong there. Flick back to the previous image and then look at this again. It is surprising what a difference the gentle shadows make.
