Too Late

Man has left it too late. Inactivity and apathy have allowed the predicted global catastrophe to take place. Dust storms rage across the desertified planet. Man is long gone, although there may be a few isolated pockets underground. Even his cyborgs, created especially to function in the harsh conditions, are breaking up and disintegrating. Unchallenged dominion over the planet belongs to the insects.

Science fiction is not normally my theme at all. This scene was made with the sabotaging, by the USA and China, of the 2009  climate conference in Copenhagen freshly in my mind.
