Although it is a structure that cannot exist in true 3D space, this is not so much an illusion as a celebration of perspective.

It is the most ambitious of all my works to date. It was made over the course of two years. 

The architecture and machinery were created in both 2D & 3D. More than four hundred  pre-planned photographs were taken to populate, accessorise and texture the image. It is not possible to do it justice here as it is very high resolution and packed with a multitude of detail.  It prints 150 cm (5ft) square. You can go right up close to it and examine the tiny details. It is well worth looking at the enlarged detail images here.

It is a steam punk commentary on ‘connected’ modern digital life, social media in particular. Faceless anonymous people in three differently rotated worlds can see each other, maybe even speak ...... but with no real contact. The only ‘link’ common to all is the machine.
