SHATTERED ILLUSION

The sculpted words“ILLUSION” is a variation of my Illusion Typeface shown on this site.

This was originally a design produced for the cover of a special Paradox edition of Science et Vie Junior, a French science magazine for younger readers. The  structure is “painted” in the computer. The

man, and accessories are photographed.

At the request of the editors I had to vastly simplify it so as not to compete with all the cover type. You can see the variations here.

This image is based upon the “Penrose Triangle”. Although attributed to Sir Roger Penrose, who produced it in the 1950‘s, it had in fact been produced earlier in 1934 by one of the pioneers of illusion, the Swedish artist Oscar Reutersvärd .
